It
is a place to heal and rejuvenate from the stresses of
the mainland, in a green garden-like setting...
...in
a residential neighborhood in real Hawaii, in a home with two dogs and a cat who will supply all the love and affection you need if you are missing your own critters! Liz is pleased to be more than your hostess, but a resource to help you have a great
time while you are here! So, feel free to ask her at any point during your stay, what to do, where or to go.
Hale
Lokahi has access to many modalities of healing work.
We can put you in touch with massage therapists who will come to the house, as well as Jin Shin practitioners and other body workers. Liz also does Clearing the Emotional Body, emotional / spiritual healing work, and has acupuncturists and chiropractors she can refer you to.
Hale
Lokahi is entirely screened in, so you are close to the
outdoors.
We are at about an 800 foot
altitude. There is a lot of sunshine, and often rain
at night, in the tropical
weather pattern.
We are at about an 800 foot altitude. There is a lot of sunshine, and often rain at night, in the tropical weather pattern. At this time we have one
unit, a room and a bath. There is a shared common room, with a tv / vcr / dvd, bookshelf stocked with the kind of books that take you inside yourself, as well as some great novels if you just want to escape. There is a hot tub here for the use of all residents,
and outdoor lounge furniture in back.
There
is a barbecue if you choose to cook outside,
and a small
kitchenette with a microwave, cofffee maker, toaster, blender, cook and eating utensils, large covered lani, bath; dish soap and hair dryer are provided. Additionally, there is a phone which may be used for making calls throughout The Big Island and long-distance calls with a calling card.
We maintain a peaceful and meditative atmosphere
here.
We
want to help you take advantage of all there is to do on
Big Island, Hilo side, and are available for recommendations
for restaurants and things to do
in the area.
There is a black sand beach about 15 minutes away, clothing optional, and tidepools for excellent snorkeling, hot ponds to enjoy and Green Lake to hike around.
We are about an hour away from the Volcano, with its artsy
little village and theater, and of course the park , where
we recommend a visit to Pele.
We are
also half an hour from Hilo and its university and
cultural events.
Pahoa, a countercultural haven with a
number of restaurants, an
internet cafe,a natural food market and
Malama Market, gas etc is about a ten minute drive. *
