Brix DS V3 Release For The Nintendo R4 DS Card
I truly do enjoy writing about the Nintendo R4 DS Card and Nintendo DS Homebrew games. My love of all things to do with NDS homebrew is simple. I never cease to be amazed by the generosity of all of these hard working developers who have no problem letting all of us download and play their games. They don't do it for the money (it's free - remember?), and they certainy don't do it for fame or any kind of commercial gain. They do it just because they love to make games, and love to have people play those games. And of course, I am sure they love having thousands and thousands of homebrew gamers download and play their games.
And speaking of NDS homebrew games, there's a new game I happened to find (and quickly downloaded) last week called Brix DS. I am a very big fan of any kind of puzzle game, and especially puzzle games that try to stand out by being really unique or have a different take on the puzzler genre. Any puzzle game fan knows what I'm talking about, we've all had enough of the match these shapes or colors to make the go away, I want to play something thats different and unique. Brix DS offers up just the kind of puzzle game I love, unique, different, great graphics and excellent puzzles. Brix DS in it's third version - and Brix DS V3.0 has only gotten better. This 3rd version of the game adds yet another 16 high quality levels and puts the total number of levels in the game to an amazing 73 levels.
The principle of Brix DS is simple: do not drop dynamite on the ground, and remove all the gray bricks level by level, simply by touching them with the stylus. As you try to beat each stage, you will encounter different types of bricks throughout the levels. To make things even harder, there are certain bricks you won't be able to remove (The dark grey bricks) so it really plays on your physics and planning, to ensure that the dynamite does not bounce off those bricks only to hit the ground. You may look at this and thing "That's easy, I can balance the dynamite by removing these two bricks", but the fact of the matter is, you can't just remove the bricks one after the other, you have to wait while your player re-charges to be able ot break the next brick.
The game works and is fun because it goes from being something very easy to getting harder and harder the longer you play. The first few levels are easy, more of a way to get you accustomed to the game itself, and as you progress through the levels you'll find it getting harder and harder. This game is one of those games that you can play over and over again, and if you're lucky enough to have a Nintendo R4 DS card you can start playing it for free right away.
The best thing about the developer of Brix DS is they constantly update it. In fact, several dozen new levels have been added since it's v1 release, and Nintendo R4 owners defintely want this trend to continue. And it goes without saying that the updates themselves are absolutely free as well for anyone with a Nintendo R4 DS Card. You will not have to spend a single dollar to get any of the new updates or new levels that are planned and being worked on by the developer I have never even heard of, much less owned any commercial game that can boast that updates and new levels are free, not on the Nintendo DS or DSi anyway.
