Why Guys Will Forever Love The Color Black
Men need to let women in on a certain color secret that all men understand and that no women get, and that's that black is a guy's best friend. This special guy color attracts men like a free buffet bar attracts a herd of Weight Watchers rejects for a few reasons. It certainly is a very popular color and many a guy has a lot of black things in his 'wardrobe, ' if you want to call the pile of clothing he selects from a wardrobe, that is. Truly, Black never goes out of style. At least for guy.
For one, and this is an important consideration when talking about boys, young man, men and even old men, it hides dirt, stains and other icky blotches very well. Think about it; the color works great and looking good and hiding dirt. Think about something like a black helmet, perhaps one intended for a motorcycle, for example. Who needs to polish it and clean it for the first seven or eight years when black is there to hide all the dirt?
And hiding dirt is probably something that is a high priority on most any man's list of reasons for why he would get something that is predominantly were completely black in color. If the word 'style' even enters into his vocabulary, it only does so grudgingly and because he's probably trying to impress some woman who believes he's actually really into arugula and European art films.
For most guys, even picking out something as simple as a watch will require thinking about how it can best appear to be clean when it's not. This may be why they go for a black sport watch, after busily leafing through the discount store fliers for a good eight dollar model, it must be said. What guy, really, ever considers throwing down three grand on a Swiss watch that needs to be cleaned all the time and doesn't come in black?
There's really nothing arcane or esoteric about a man and his love of the color black. Any male of the species, almost from the time he emerges from the womb, gets the notion that black pants are great at hiding things, especially when their stains around the crotch area that have just been washed off with a wet dishcloth. Try pulling that little stunt wearing a nice pair of chi-chi khakis, guys.
If there's anything, really, to complain about as far as things are colored black, it just might be that a guy who insists on going around dressed in it from head to toe might be mistaken for some ninja warrior out on a mission. Of course, his very cute Day-Glo men's sport watch would have given him away, how else would he know that it's time to head to his favorite chat room to discuss the goings-on at his favorite online first-person shooter game?
So then; it is well that the color black has decided to grace the presence of most guys, especially if they're concerned about not having to wash those pesky black pants after just 13 or 14 uses. And though a guy is in danger of being mistaken for some kind of ninja assassin if he falls too in love with the color black, its slimming properties can make even the most portly among the guy population look practically svelte, and that's never a bad thing, is it?
